Workout Cuter than the Skinnies

I am 5’7 and wear a size 14/16 and I can feel the extra weight around my waist, thighs, and boobs as I get older.  I don’t want to be skinny but just healthier. About 7 years ago, I lost about 50lbs and gain back about 20 lbs overtime.  Ideally, losing 15-20 lbs would be awesome right now but I HATE working out. Now I do walk my dog everyday which gives me about 30 mins of a lite walk but no heart beat increase. It probably just help me maintain my weigh enough to slow down the rapid weight gain.  This spring, my goal is to carry my “lazy” butt to the park at least 3 times a week and walk for 30-45 minutes briskly to start this healthy process and have a little less wine and sugar, too! WALK off the weight that’s my GOAL.

Well we know the”skinnies”is taking over the gyms, parks, and streets with their committed energy, petite bodies, and fancy workout gear.  Right now, committing myself to their energy levels or desiring those petite bodies is not in my thought process. But the workout gear.. WE can SLAY it! Check out these fancy affordable threads to “workout cuter than the skinnies”….

A Curvy Girl Travel Tips

Is it vacation time? Have you start planning to take a trip this summer? Whether you flying from coast to coast, international, driving to a nearby city with a beach, or cruising the seas, it’s time for U to enjoy this summer. At the beginning of the year, I always plan a economic 3 day, 4 night weekend trip in May or June to relax, read, and sit on the beach the entire time. (i.e. Cancun, Bahamas) No sightseeing tours, no phone, and no work. It’s a way for me to think, mediate, refocus, and distress from the 1st part of the new year. Also, I try to plan a week long vacation out the country whether by boat or plane in July/August to a new destination. Research is key, so try to locate a GREAT travel agent. They do all the guess work and conduct research, schedule tours, transportation, and setup payment arrangements. Periodically, I may use the travel search engines for the last minute trips but if I can plan it out, I call my travel agent. Usually the same price and more perks!

1.) Find a Travel Agent

Departure Style Information Board - TRAVEL

With all my upcoming trips, the biggest question I have is “WHAT TO TAKE”? I am a plus size curvy women size 14 with a edgy style, but I feel a little too old to wear all my skin out as if I was 18 years old. So, I been looking through my closets, trying on last year spring/summer clothes to determine if it still fit or dated. Nevertheless, whether I purchase new or repeat from last year. I am still in odds with “WHAT TO TAKE”? For the beach we all know, swimsuits, sundresses, cover-ups, and flip flops. But I am a moody dresser, I may love it today and don’t want to look at it tomorrow. So, I had to come up with a plan for my trip to Cancun this past week. Less is more when packing. I had one suitcase and my purse. I packed  4 sundresses, 3 bathing suits, 1 shirt, 1 pair of shorts, 4 pairs of sandals, beach towel, collapsable beach bag, toiletries, and undergarments. All done! My luggage was light and I had everything I needed.I felt great! Less fuss and more practical.

2.) Pack light, but practical

Lastly, enjoy your trip! Don’t let things you cannot change destroy your mood. Whether the airport temporarily lost your luggage, hotel room not ideal,  or someone was rude/unpleasant, don’t let it affect your trip. As adults, we have to learn how to pick our battles and not let other events affect our mental state. The main purpose of a vacation is “serenity” not “dismay”. My grandma use to state “When you run out of options, that’s when you worry”, but as long as you got them you can survive. Makes perfect sense. Enjoy yourself and your vacation, you deserve it.

3.) Really enjoy your trip!

MOMENT TO SHARE: I just returned from a 3 night- 4 day weekend in Cancun, Mexico with one of my dearest friends staying at the Presidente Intercontinental Cancún Resort. It was an awesome trip with a calming beachfront, plenty sun, and laughs. I feel if you work ALL the time, even if money is an issue to see other parts of the world, locate happiness at a neighboring city or beach. Remember, life is what you enjoy while you living it. #GLAMCURVY

Plus Size Men missing in the “Fashion Industry”

1

Recently, I had a conversation with a male friend about plus size women in fashion and it went into a different direction. He asked, “What about “plus size” men or the  term “BIG & TALL?” I was sitting here thinking about that conversation and how “plus size” men are overlooked and the fashion industry tends to not publicize the topic.  So today, I researched the internet to locate the “plus size” or “big & tall” market and it was what I imagined. Only retail ads for purchasing  and little exposure to fashion industry trends, models, runways, etc.

So today, I would like to bring awareness to this hidden fashion market PLUS SIZE MEN or BIG&TALL in hopes to create conversation and exposure.

Men, check out this cool site… http://www.chubstr.com

Feeling Sexy

Collage12

Looking at these two photos is a statement of its own. The black strappy ensemble is so sexy and she looks fierce in it. (Model: Linda Cobbina) The white strappy bathing suit look is conservative but sexy, its makes me want to find out how to purchase it. These are definitely some curvy inspirational looks and these ladies look awesome. Poise, sexy, and sassy!

For any reason “YOU” cannot picture your curvy bottom in one of these ensembles then your sexy inner glam curviness fierceness is dim. You don’t have to be in love with these looks but imagine the sexiness and then put your body in it. Case Closed.
